From woodland walks and wildlife discovery to nature crafts and outdoor exploration, you’ll help campers develop a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
Spend your summer surrounded by forests, lakes, mountains and wildlife while encouraging children to discover what makes the outdoors so special. Whether you’re leading bug hunts, identifying local plants and animals, creating nature-inspired crafts or teaching basic environmental awareness, every day brings a new adventure and an opportunity to spark curiosity.
You should have a genuine passion for the outdoors and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others. Camp directors are looking for enthusiastic, creative and engaging individuals who are confident leading groups of children in outdoor activities while making learning fun, safe and interactive.
Your role will include the teaching of:
Leading nature walks and exploring the local environment
Teaching campers about local wildlife, habitats, plants and ecosystems
Organising nature-based activities such as scavenger hunts and bug hunts
Helping campers create nature-inspired crafts using natural materials
Encouraging environmental awareness, conservation and respect for nature
Planning fun, educational outdoor sessions suitable for different ages and abilities
Creating engaging activities that inspire curiosity, teamwork and a love of the outdoors
Preferred Experience or Qualifications:
An appreciation for nature and the outdoors
Natural sciences/environment/ecology degree
Experience in teaching and creating lesson plans

Animal lovers will feel right at home as an Animal Care Instructor at camp. This role gives you the opportunity to care for a variety of friendly animals while helping campers develop confidence, responsibility and a genuine appreciation for animal welfare.
Many summer camps have their own small farms or animal centres, home to animals such as rabbits, goats, donkeys, chickens, sheep and other small livestock. You’ll spend your summer caring for these animals, teaching campers how to safely interact with them, and creating fun, educational experiences that build confidence and respect for the natural world.
You should have a genuine passion for working with animals and feel confident handling and caring for a range of species. Camp directors are looking for enthusiastic, patient and responsible individuals who can engage children while ensuring both camper and animal welfare remain the highest priority.
Your role will include the teaching of:
Caring for a variety of animals including rabbits, goats, donkeys, chickens, sheep and other small livestock
Teaching campers how to safely handle, feed, groom and interact with different animals
Maintaining clean, safe and healthy animal enclosures while supporting daily welfare routines
Leading fun, hands-on activities that educate campers about animal care, welfare and responsibility
Creating a positive environment where campers build confidence, compassion and respect for animals and the natural world
Preferred Experience or Qualifications:
Practical experience caring for domestic, farm or small animals
Confidence handling animals and teaching children about safe animal care
